It’s Not A Diet, It’s A Lifestyle Change
No Filter is now offering Semaglutide injection! Semaglutide medication is the #1 selling weight loss medication in the USA and is now available at a significant cost savings. Reach your weight loss goals with Semaglutide. No restrictive diet or intense exercise is needed!
Semaglutide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist similar to the naturally occurring hormone controlling your appetite.
These injections mimic a hormone in the body that tells the brain to reduce appetite and increase feelings of fullness after meals. This means that people who receive semaglutide injections may feel less hungry and more satisfied after eating, which can help them to eat less and lose weight.
Studies have shown that Semaglutide injections are effective in helping people lose weight. People who receive these injections have been shown to lose 15% to 20% of their body weight in about six months. Semaglutide injections may also help to improve other health problems associated with obesity, such as high blood pressure and high cholesterol.
Overall, Semaglutide injections are a promising new tool for people struggling with obesity and have not been successful with traditional weight loss methods. If you want to learn more about Semaglutide injections and whether they might be a good option for you, call our office at 319-224-0286 or use your Book Online feature to schedule your appointment.
We are now offering Tirzeptide Medical Weight Loss to our arsenal here at No Filter.
Tirzepatide is a dual glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) and glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist. It works by regulating insulin and glucagon, leading to reduced appetite, delayed gastric emptying, and improved glucose control, all contributing to weight loss.
Dosages of tirzepatide for weight loss vary and are determined based on individual factors. Our Nurse Practitioner will prescribe an appropriate dosage, often titrated up gradually to achieve optimal results while minimizing potential side effects.

Low-dose Semaglutide (1.0mg) once-weekly resulted in an average 11 pound weight loss in 12 weeks.
A recent 20-week, phase II trial investigated the effects of subcutaneous administration of Semaglutide 2.4 mg on gastric emptying, appetite, and energy intake in patients. Patients receiving Semaglutide 2.4 mg in this trial lost 9.9% of their bodyweight, compared with 0.4% in those receiving placebo.
High-dose (2.4mg) Semaglutide has been studied in non-diabetic patients suffering from obesity. The New England Journal of Medicine's publication of the STEP trial revealed more than 50 percent of trial participants lost 15 percent of their body weight, and between 33 to 40 percent are losing 20 percent of their body weight. This number is superior to the current best weight loss agent (phentermine plus topiramate; approximately 10% body weight loss in a year).
Semaglutide mimics the effect of "feeling full" resulting in a decreased caloric intake. Semaglutide will delay gastric emptying by reducing glucagon secretion in a glucose-dependent manner. The delay in gastric emptying can reduce appetite, improve control of eating, and reduce food cravings.
Most common side effects are: nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, stomach (abdomen) pain, headache, tiredness (fatigue), upset stomach, dizziness, feeling bloated, belching, gas, stomach flu, and heartburn. Note that most of these are manageable by proper dosing and some overlap with the intended effect of "feeling full".
There are rare situations where Semaglutide is contraindicated. Patients with a
personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or in patients with
Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2)

GLP-1s are FDA-approved and safe. They have been widely used since 2005 and are generally very well tolerated, with minimal side effects.
We do not recommend taking any weight loss medication that is not a GLP-1 during your weight loss program.
